Liquid Faction
Liquid Faction is a Multi-Generational Rock, Fusion, and Hip-Hop collective of musicians from the northwest suburbs of Chicago. The instrumentation consists of 2 guitars, bass, drums, and 2 vocalists – with guest musicians occasionally featured. Often defined as a psychedelic rock group, their influences include: The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, The Strokes, The Black Keys, The Meters, Franz Ferdinand, and many more.
The band can be found playing at local bars and venues in the Chicago area. Capable of playing high-energy, multi-genre, crowd-thrilling 30-180 minute sets, the band’s style and substance keep fans always looking for more.

Meet the Band
RICKY HENDRIX
Guitarist (2013)
Founder of Liquid Faction, Ricky specializes in blues, rock and jazz. He draws inspiration from artists like Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore, Robin Trower, Jimmy Page, and Wes Montgomery academically and performatively. It has been said time and time again that Ricky really brings an entertaining level to Liquid Faction’s shows. It’s worth noting that he may be stuck in 1968, with his clothes and playing style. Truly a time machine for the modern era.
SAM CUELLAR
Bassist (2023)
Hailing from Palatine, IL, Sam has been laying down the low end for more than 20 years. His musical inspirations span across the world, drawing from a wide range of styles–from ‘80s New Wave to modern metal, rock, and funk, with influences from Japan to Canada and everywhere in between. At your next Liquid Faction show, don’t be surprised when you find yourself grooving to his funky and rock-esque basslines!
LUCAS ROEHRBORN
Guitarist (2023)
Luke has been shredding the guitar since he was 12 years old. He has been involved in numerous bands and projects in the Chicago rock and metal scene for the last 15 years. He has been mastering playing a 7-string guitar so he can provide a slight HEAVY influence to our sound. He continues to be a dedicated member of Liquid Faction and will blow your mind with his spider fingers!
GIANNA SCUMACI
Vocalist (2026)
Gianna comes from a family of entertainers and started playing the piano and singing at the age of four. During the last ten years, she has been writing and recording her original music, entering contests, and experimenting with open mic and jam nights. Her inspirations are Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys. Gianna is extremely excited about being a part of Liquid Faction.
JEFF JENNINGS
Drummer (2024)
From the Chicago Bears drumline to America’s Got Talent, Jeff’s drumming makes an impact that is unmistakable. A Chicago suburbs native, he specializes in technical, creative, and energetic performances everywhere he goes. Jeff’s musical influences include: The Contortionist, Chon, and Tigran Hamasyan. He is excited to be the most recent addition to Liquid Faction and is looking forward to partying with you!
